Ghana To Wipe Out Yaws Infection By 2016

Ghana plans to wipe out yaws infection by 2016. The Minister of Health, Alban Bagbin announced this at the National launch of the elimination of Yaws programme in Accra. He said, a sustained political will on the part of government and commitment of its development partners are needed to ensure its total eradication. Mr. Bagbin also challenged health professionals to be diligent in the discharge of their duties. He said, the country's desire to develop will be an illusion if curable diseases continue to afflict the people.
