Prez Mahama's IEA Encounter Rescheduled

President John Dramani Mahama will not be appearing at the much-talked about presidential evening encounter of the Institute of Economic Affairs tonight. Citi News understands the event has been rescheduled to October 18. The encounter was originally scheduled to take place today, but it is unclear why the date has been moved. Early on, the Information Minister, Fritz Baffour, had assured Citi News the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) was set for the Presidential Evening Encounter. The NDC leadership rescinded its earlier decision to boycott the IEA encounter after Mr. Mahama became the partys presidential candidate. President Mahama will become the first sitting president to ever submit to the presidential debate and encounter. Mr. Baffour said, Virtually, he is going to tell us about what his plans are, what he intends doing and he is going to refer copiously to our manifesto. He gave the highlights as, We are looking at the four thematic areas regarding infrastructure, jobs, better governance and the economy, basically that is what he is going to do.
