NDC Confirms Resignation Of Nana Konadu

The Deputy General Secretary in Charge of Operations of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. George Lawson, has officially confirmed the resignation of Mrs. Konadu Agyeman Rawlings from the ruling party. Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News on Friday, Mr. Lawson said "this morning between the hours of 9am -10am they brought her resignation letter, dated 12th October." According to Mr. Lawson, the functional executive will meet and take a decision and then acknowledge receipt of the letter that was received by his office. "Whatever decision is taken will be communicated to Mrs. Konadu and the general public," he said. The former First Lady's move is to pave way for her to contest the flagbearership race of the breakaway National Democratic Party (NDP), who are holding their maiden Congress in Kumasi on Saturday.
