Officials of the Electoral Commission have finally accepted and cleared the filing papers submitted by the presidential candidate of the Convention People's Party (CPP).
EC officials returned the papers of Dr Abu Sakara and his running mate following the detection of anomalies in the forms.
Officials of the Commission, after examining documents submitted by Dr Abu Sakara and his running mate, Nana Akosua Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah, returned them to Dr Sakara and asked him to correct some mistakes for submission before the 5 pm deadline.
Dr Sakara and some leaders of the CPP were seen feverishly working just outside the gates of the Commission to correct the anomalies.
Unconfirmed reports indicate there was a problem with the passport photographs submitted by the presidential candidate, prompting the EC to reject them.
In a related development, the documents of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) and the United Front Party (UFP) have also been rejected following the detection of errors.
