Retired Police Officer, Chief Inspector Robert Noah Coffie whose last station was Akrofuom in the Brong Ahafo Region is in a dire state of desolation because his pension has been withheld for more than one year now. Information reaching DAILY GUIDE shows that Chief Inspector Coffie retired from the Police Service in November 2011. Unfortunately, that was the last time he received any form of entitlement from the government for his decades of service to the country. In an exclusive interview with DAILY GUIDE, the extremely depressed former cop recounted a streak of unfortunate situations that have happened to him since his retirement. First of all, six months after his retirement, he was struck down by a stroke that has immobilised him; he frequents the Holy Family Hospital in Techiman where he receives treatment. His life savings have been used for his treatment. Now penniless, he is unable to fund his children�s education, forcing them out of school onto the streets. According to the unhappy ex-police officer, because he was not in the position to look after his wife, she has abandoned him and gone back to her hometown, leaving the poor and sick officer to care for himself. He therefore seized the opportunity to appeal to the Inspector General of Police, Paul Tawiah Quaye to order whosoever was in charge of his monthly pension to expedite action on the issue before his condition kills him.
