NDC To NPP: If You're Deficient In Maths Don't Visit Your Incompetencies On Us

The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) says it is focused on ensuring peace in the country and is unfazed by the actions of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). General Secretary of the NDC, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, warned that should anyone try to "mess with the peace of this country they will have to contend with the security services of the country." "We in the NDC, will not take the law into our own hands. Even if the NPP throws their thugs into the street, we know where to go and whose responsibility it is to keep the peace of Ghana," he said. Addressing journalists in Accra Sunday, the NDC General Secretary sarcastically said parties who struggle with mathematics should not visit the effects of their incompetence on the nation. He also stated that based on the result which had been announced at polling stations, the party was in a good position to win the presidential election. We are confident because we know that based on reports being announced at polling stations, the NDC has the majority lead in parliament. Since the EC remained the only body with the mandatory power to declare election results,we are only waiting for them to declare the result for the presidential election, he said. He accused the NPP of peddling lies and propaganda about votes being added to the presidential candidate of the NDC, President John Mahama. I want all Ghanaians, especially NDC supporters not to believe the lies and disgruntled reports from political parties blaming the NDC for their performance so far in the elections He said the NPP was interfering in the constitutional obligation of the EC by peddlings lies and propaganda about votes being added to the NDC's and added that We as a peaceful party and law abiding, will only wait for the EC to come out with its final results. The NDC General Secretary stressed that regardless of which party the EC declared the winner, the NDC government would ensure that nothing destructive affected the peace and stability of Ghana, adding that the party would not take matters into its hands and would always resort to using the legal way of addressing their grievances.
