More Messages Pour In Congratulating President Elect

Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf has congratulated President John Mahama on his election as President. The Liberian leader said President Mahama's election reflects the confidence, Ghana has in his leadership skills. She was optimistic the ties between Ghana and Liberia will be further strengthened under the incoming administration. She stressed that Liberia will continue to work hand in hand with Ghana for the promotion of the charters of the ECOWAS, AU and UN. The Regent of Dagbon kapankuya Na Yakubu Abdulai Andani has also congratulated the President elect John Dramani Mahama on his victory in last week's Presidential election. He also congratulated all the Presidential Candidates who contested in the election. He appealed to all the political party leaders to ensure that Ghana continue to enjoy the peace prevailing in the country. The Regent kapankuya Na Yakubu Abdulai Andani made the call when some Chiefs from Western Dagbon led by the Savelugu Naa AbukariMahama paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Yendi to inform him of how Western Dagbon is peaceful after the elections. He appealed to any political party which is not satisfy with the elections to pass through the right channel for its problem to be addressed and not to take the law into its own hands to plunge the country into chaos. He indicated that, Ghana�s Democracy is matured enough for it to be plunged into confusion when the whole world now sees Ghana as one of the best democratic countries in the world. Regent kapankuya Na Yakubu Abdulai Andani noted that the victory of the December 2012 elections is for Ghana and not a particular political party. He commended the people of Dagbon, the Security Agents, the Media, and Ghanaians as a whole for ensuring peaceful elections. On their part, the Leadership of the Trade Union Congress on behalf of its membership has congratulated President John Mahama on his election as the President of the Republic of Ghana. A statement issued in Accra on Thursday by Mr Kofi Asamoah, Secretary General of the Union assured the President of the Unions cooperation and support in all efforts towards the development of the country. It said the working people of Ghana were faced with economic and social challenges that needed the attention of the President. �We trust that during your term as President, you will continue to engage us as worker�s leaders on a regular basis so together we can deal with these challenges,� it added. Meanwhile the Union also used the opportunity to congratulate all political parties and stakeholders for their discipline, organized, peaceful, mature and professional manner they conducted themselves in the just ended elections. It said even though the elections were marked with some shortcomings, on the whole the country have been able to ensure a peaceful elections. The statement also congratulated the security agencies for their professional policing during the period to ensure violence free elections. The Union therefore called on the President Elect, President Mahama to do everything possible to unify the country.
