Retired diplomat, KB Asante has called on Ghanaians to hold the President elect accountable if the nation is to continue along the path of socio-economic development. Commenting on the election of John Dramani Mahama as the next President of the Republic, he noted that, �the citizens should make sure he delivers on his promises in the manifesto presented to Ghanaian.� �As a citizen I will join with others to compel him to do what�s right. The manifesto which they present to us has a lot of good points and we should try to see to it that he follows some of the good path. I insist on a pleasant expectation.� According to Mr. Asante, �the citizens of Ghana should see to it that he [President Mahama] does the right in accordance with the law and that he follows his manifesto. If there is the tendency for him to forget some aspects of the manifesto that will move the country forward, both his followers and opposition should edge him on to go forward and do it.�
