NPP's Electoral Fraud Figures Are Contradictory - Alfred Ogbamey

The Managing Editor of the Gye Nyame Concord, Alfred Ogbamey says figures being churned out by leadership of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) makes a mockery of the partys claim of electoral fraud in the just ended general election. He indicated that the contradictory figures in the public domain from leading members of the NPP makes it difficult to convince discerning Ghanaians that it has a legitimate case. The NPP maintains it has incontrovertible evidence to prove that the Electoral Commission (EC) massaged figures of the December 7 general election to favour the incumbent government. The party is however gathering its evidence of the electoral fraud to the Supreme Court in order to annul President John Mahamas victory in the election. But speaking on Asempa FMs Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, Alfred Ogbamey said the so-called evidence the NPP claims to have exist in the minds of those alleging. According to him, the figures alleged to have been added to President Mahamas votes keep changing which he says makes the NPPs claim a cock and bull story. Alfred Ogbamey cited the 150,000 figure quoted by Minority leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu and the one million votes quoted by General Secretary, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie as examples to corroborate his claim. The Gye Nyame Concord Editor intimated that the delay by the NPP to go to court cast doubts in the minds of party members and sympathizers as to whether the supposed evidence does exist. He could not fathom why the party leadership would ask Dr. Afari Gyan to hold on his declaration when after ten days it had not been able to put out any evidence. Alfred Ogbamey urged the NPP leadership not to take their teeming supporters for a ride.
