Kwesi Appiah Ready To Take On Africa At AFCON

Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah says they are ready to face any opponent at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations which starts in South Africa on Saturday. The former international made the comments when he arrived with his team in Port Elizabeth where the Black Stars will play their Group B matches. Ghana have been tipped among the favourites for the title as the four-time champions have had good preparation in Anu Dhabi. Despite being confident of his team�s chances, Appiah claims no team can be ignored at the Africa Cup of Nations ahead of Saturday�s kick-off. �I believe that it�s going to be very competitive,� Appiah said. �We�re going to do our best but saying that there�s no way you can underrate any team in this competition. �We will not underestimate any side and we will do the best that we can,� said Appiah. The 29th edition of Africa�s continental championships opens in South Africa on Saturday with the host nation taking on Cape Verde Islands at Soccer City. Ghana will play their first game on Sunday against the Democratic Republic of the Congo and while Appiah�s side seem the obvious favourite to top Group B. The head coach remains convinced the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will be tough from start to finish.
