Joseph Osei, a 27 year old journalist is in the grips of the Police for defrauding individuals, companies as well as diplomatic missions (The Chinese Embassy). He is alleged to have done so with the name of investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye investigative company. Joseph, once a Northern regional correspondent for Joy Fm; an Accra based radio station, was sacked and currently works for a Kumasi based radio station as a correspondent. He has told various people that he was an employee of Ultimate Radio, a Kumasi based private radio station. During one such operation, Tiger Eye officials got wind of his intentions to defraud another man following which he was picked by the regional Police Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officers. Joseph usually carried himself about as an �insider� at Tiger Eye and went round threatening companies and individuals that they were under investigations by Anas and he could help them to avoid the scandalous findings that Tiger Eye was going to put out in the public domain, which will not inure to their company�s benefit. In the case of an Accra based company [name withheld], Osei succeeded in fleecing as much as GH� 10,000 in two GH� 5,000 installments. Both transactions meanwhile were captured on Close Circuit TV (CCTV) planted in the building by the company. In the area of the diplomatic mission, he wrote to the Chinese Embassy, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Sino - Africa, a Chinese Business Group that Tiger Eye had been contracted by some US and UK companies to destroy the Chinese people. He forged a contract document and added one of Anas's 'galamsey' documentaries and said that was evidence of the crime. He also accused the Government of Ghana as condoning to the plot to destroy Chinese people in Ghana and added that 78 of the Chinese people had died as a result of the grand scheme. Portions of the letter he wrote to the Chinese Embassy read as follows: �This group sees the Chinese as a threat due to the provisions of affordable equipments for miners in my country and the support they offer to Africa, they believe if they don't stop China it will take over Africa, hence their the plan to get the services of investigative journalist to tarnish the image of Chinese. I was personally poached by this group to write bad stories about China," he added. Joseph started his activities after fraudulently acquiring a proposal template of Tiger Eye from its website; he edited the document into several self created proposals and presented it to institutions claiming that that was evidence that Tiger Eye was investigating them. A document found on him during his arrest, showed a proposal he had written using Tiger Eye�s profile ostensibly for the companies. The document dated November 2012 named He forged the name of an American, one Steven Seal as the one who signed for the US, UK group, while Ederm Kove signed as group leader, for the alleged investigators. He positioned himself as the right person to counter the actions of Tiger Eye and the other groups. In the process he has sent several emails to media outlets like �the China Daily,� claiming it was the activities of Tiger Eye that had led to the attack and killing of 78 Chinese in Ghana and that Tiger Eye with the support of Government of Ghana had a grand scheme to destroy Chinese businesses and Chinese people in Ghana. Joseph Osei was one of the Journalists involved in the infamous �Baba Jamal Secret Tape� saga that rocked the country about two years ago.
