Albert Adomah Mourns Wakaso Loss For Final Afcon Match

Albert Adomah has bemoaned the loss of key midfielder Mubarak Wakaso for Ghanas final group game against Niger. The Espanyol player was booked for lifting his shirt while celebrating his goal in the 1-0 win over Mali on Thursday. Wakasos 39th minute booking sees him suspended for the final Group B clash with Niger haven picked up a yellow card in the group opener with DR Congo. Coach Akwasi Appiah will now have to dig deep into his squad to find a replacement for the hard-tackler who has been so good for the Black Stars at the Nations Cup. And Adomah recognizes the great loss to the team occasioned by the suspension but is confident a suitable replacement will be found. Its a shame when you lose one of your key players but at the same time weve got players that can hopefully cover and do the same job he (Wakaso) does, the Bristol City winger told MTNFootball.com. Christian Atsu is already being talked of as a replacement for Wakaso on the left-side of Ghanas midfield. Coach Appiah could however be forced to change his tactics entirely with central midfielder Derek Boateng as the replacement.
