Dr. Omane Boamah: "2:0 In A Quarter-Final Match Is An Achievement"

Minister designate for Communication Dr. Omani Boamah said he knew Ghanas match against Cape Verde was going to be difficult as anticipated and that credit must be giving to the Blacks Stars for securing a place in the Semi-finals of the on-going Africa Cup of Nations. We knew it was not going to be easy at all, I said it before the game...to beat a team on the fourth occasion, they will definitely strategize against you...this is the very team that prevented Cameroon from coming to this 2013 AFCON, so they (Cape Verde) are not an inferior team, he stated. Omani Boamah believes despite Ghanas low performance against the side which has triggered the likes of Cameroon not to participate in South Africa, its an accomplishment for the Stars to be in the Semi-finals for the fourth conservative time. "Two zero in a quarter final match is an achievement. We agree that the people (Cape Verde) may not have the experience in the kind of champagne football that they will except...In the last AFCON our best match was the match against the Zambia and we (Black Stars) existed the competition. he recalled. You either decide to play a strategy that will give you a win and not maybe satisfy your supporters and the spectators or play the champagne football and get out of the competition. We will keep our eyes focused on the cup and very sure we will win it, he stated. Ghana will come face to face with Burkina Faso in the semi-finals of the on-going 2013 Africa cup of Nation coming Wednesday.
