Even before the acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) takes office, pressure group, Alliance for Accountable Governance (AFAG) is cautioning Mohammed Alhassan not to succumb to the wishes governing NDC government. President John Mahama last week appointed Deputy IGP, Mohammed Alhassan to act as IGP as sitting IGP Paul Tawiah Quaye had to proceed on a compulsory 90-day terminal leave. Speaking to Citi News, the Director of Operations for AFAG, Abu Ramadan stated that the new IGP may be tempted to impress his new employers hence may be succumbing to their wishes. �He being in an acting position, he will certainly want to satisfy the appointing authorities so that he will be made the he can be made the substantive IGP�and for the matter, in the quest if we are not careful, he might over do it and so that is why we are raising this concern.� He alleged that the rumours making rounds suggest the acting IGP is affiliated to the National Democratic Congress (NDC) �and for that matter, he is coming into the Police Service to be the NDC National Organizer in the Police Service rather than do his job professionally as a Police man.� Mr. Ramadan further mentioned that �when somebody is in an acting position and all of this is being said about him that he is NDC and all of that and considering the current situation we find ourselves, there is a need for us to let him know that we know where he is coming from.�
