Veteran football administrator Jones Abu Alhassan has launched a stinging attack on the Ghana Football Association describing officials who have accused him of masterminding the Black Stars failure to win the 2013 African Cup of Nations title as being out to their minds. The Real Tamale United administrator has been accused by some officials of plotting black magic (juju) in the stars dressing room ahead of their semi-final defeat to Burkina Faso. After the highest paid national team was shamefully bundled out of the continental showpiece in South Africa, a number of theories have been deduced including the old and unscientific talk of black magic, playing a leading role in the team�s dreadful failure. The Player Status Committee member has reacted angrily to the allegations by launching an astonishing attack on persons behind the rumours. �I just heard a very vicious rumour this morning. You know someone confided in me a rumour was speculating about me going to the Ghana dressing to sprinkle concoction with the view of getting Ghana to lose the match,� an incensed Alhassan told Ghana Sports exclusively. �I find it so preposterous that I initially dismissed it as one of those things. �But when we got back to Johannesburg, some of my other colleagues asked me about this and told me the rumour had gone on for so many days. �That is what I cannot fathom. It is unbelievable. Look I can say without fear of contradiction that of all the football association officials in this country, no one has travelled to watch Black Stars matches in the last ten matches more than me. �And most of the time at my own expense. I love Black Stars and I have been associated with it and so for anybody to imagine that I will do anything spiritually with the view to getting Black Stars lose a match, must be out of his mind,� he said. The latest episode is set to spark another massive debate in the country after similar reasons were given by officialdom following the Black Stars disastrous campaign at the 2013 African Cup of Nations held in Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
