The Stars No dey beee At All

The National Womens Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Otiko Afisah Djaba, has described the performance of the Senior National team the Black Stars, as unsatisfactory in the just ended African Cup of Nations in South Africa. According to her, the coach must answer questions as to what went into the selection of the playing body because of the below average performance of the team. The very vibrant and flashy Womens leader of the NPP admitted she could not stomach the pressure of the penalty kicks and what she found difficult to understand was how the three penalty kicks Ghana took against Burkina Faso were missed, went wide instead of at least forcing a save out of the Burkinabe goal keeper. She added that despite the defeat, the team should forget about the past and focus on the World Cup qualifiers which are just around the corner. She advised that it would be very important for the team to put the defeat to both the Stallions of Burkina Faso and the Eagles of Mali behind them and concentrate on the games ahead. On the issue of the dismissal of the National team coach, Kwesi Appiah, Otiko Djaba said, she would not support any move like that because the Ghanaian coaches are capable and competent enough. She supported Kwesi Appiah saying it was the coachs first outing and must be given the benefit of the doubt in another tournament to prove himself. Some players of the Black Stars made a quiet entry into the country yesterday after what most Ghanaians have called a poor showing in South Africa. Their performance has drawn criticism from a cross section of the general public with soccer analysts assigning all sorts reasons to the defeat.
