Assembly Member Wanted For Murder

The police have launched a massive manhunt for the Assembly Member for Bayerebon-Number-Three in the Atwima-Mponua District of the Ashanti Region for allegedly murdering his estranged wife. Alex Konadu allegedly chased the woman, Florence Opokuaa, 33, to a farm, where he hit her several times with a club as she fell to the ground unconscious. Taking her for dead, he fled the scene. She was discovered by farmers and subsequently hospitalized for three days. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ernest Fosu, the Nyinahin Police Commander, confirmed to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) and said the incident occurred at about 11:30am on February 3. He vowed to do everything in his power to arrest the fugitive assembly member and bring him to justice.
