Haruna Iddrisu Is A Kid...He Should Do Something Sensible Than Rendering An Apology

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Frederick Fredua Anto, has taken a swipe at the Minister for Trade and Industry who is also a member of the Appointments Committee of Parliament for the ethnocentric question he posed to the Ashanti Regional minister-designate, during his session at the Appointments Committee on Friday. He told Kumasi-based Hello FM that the Minister's question could have sparked war if it were any other country and that it was highly unnecessary for him to have asked that question in the first place. The Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman also described the Trade and Industry Minister as a 'kid' who did not know what he was on about. Hon Haruna Iddrisu had sought to find out from the nominee, Mr. Samuel Sarpong, during his vetting if other ethnic groups; particularly those from the northern and Volta extraction were safe in the Ashanti region. He has since rendered an apology for his remarks. His apology is not enough and that he should do something sensible rather than apologizing, says F.F Anto. "I wonder if his wife is really an Ashanti, the chairman who was fuming with anger inquired, adding that the Minister should come out with something better than just a retraction and an apology.
