Shareholder Calls For Pastor Mensah Otabils Removal From Board

A shareholder of pharmaceutical manufacturer, Starwin Ghana, is calling for the removal of the Board Chairman, Dr. Mensah Otabil, Managing Director, Kwasi Yirenkyi and five other directors. Enviros Solutions Limited is surcharging the board of the pharmaceutical firm at its extraordinary annual general meeting on March 5. This will be the second time that a shareholder is seeking the removal of the Managing Director and some board members in the history of listed companies on the Ghana Stock Exchange. Among eleven resolutions, Enviro Solutions is also surcharging the board on additional cost of postponing the 2012 Annual General Meeting of Starwin as well as the MD for the purchase of the pharmaceutical firms shares at 5,000 Ghana Cedis. The listed firm held its AGM in November last year after postponement in August. This was as a result of reasons that the board described as beyond its control.
