A former NPP MP for Asokwa, Maxwell Kofi Jumah, has fumed and expressed grave surprise at the way and manner our various house of chiefs who paid President Mahama a visit to give credence to his legitimacy, �intentional� missed the opportunity to tell the president in the face that �Ghana is gradually reducing into a failed state.� According to Kofi Jumah, he can only credit and sing praise of the Okyehene, Osagyefo Amoatia Oforipanyin II for showcasing some form of boldness when he urged President Mahama to accept defeat; in the event his power is invalidated by the Supreme Court. The former Asokwa MP beseeched all the chiefs including the Asantehene�s representative who met President Mahama, to bow their heads in shame for failing to talk about the harsh economic conditions which is flaring up the country, when they interacted with the president. He coined their message to President Mahama as �bogus� and implored them to thank their stars that post independence, Ghanaians didn�t abolish the chieftaincy system unlike other nations. �Chieftaincy existed before Ghana gained independence. After we even became a republic, we didn�t abolish the system unlike it happened in other countries. We accorded the institution with the maximum respect it deserved yet they went to meet the president and sung lullabies,� an incensed Kofi Jumah said. Speaking on Okay FM, the former Kumasi Mayor also stated that since the chiefs represent a group of people, they should have been able to man up and questioned the president about the recent water crisis and the rampant erratic power supply as it was making life unbearable for Ghanaians under his �better Ghana agenda� government.
