Prez Mahamas Government Lack Vision

A member of NPP Communications team, Asamoah Gyamfi has said that the NDC government lacks vision to accelerate the pace of establishing the gas project to generate power in the country. According to him a government with vision to develop a nation should have completed the gas pipeline; adding that for the past four years the NDC government has not initiated a single power plant project as a long term means of solving the energy crises. Asamoah Gyamfi, speaking on Okay FMs Ghana Decides program, stressed that there is no new direction to generate power because no leadership from the presidency, he cited. The NPP communicator, however alleged that the Brazilian loan which was meant for a power plant in Pwalugu was changed by the President to be used for the Eastern Corridor Road while the project was not only meant for a hydro dam but to serve as irrigation for Ghana. He reiterated that the NDCs feat in generating power in the country is termed as demonstration of gross incompetence; since the government has not shown any commitment to bail out VRA of the debt of $ 500million it owns the suppliers of light crude. Asamoah Gyamfi added that the NDC government is not been truthful to Ghanaians with the issue of power generation. He again hinted that the generators are there but lacked the light crude to generate power, adding that the Asogli power plant produced about 200 megawatts and the country only needed extra 200 but the Aboadze thermal plant which uses both gas and light crude is not been utilized to generate more power. He worriedly stated that, there are generators but until government provided money for VRA for light crude, the erratic power outage saga will not end because the government lack vision and boldness to make decisions and come out with lasting solution.
