President Mahama Charges Black Stars To Qualify For Brazil 2014

President John Dramani Mahama has charged the Ghana Football Association to focus on building a strong Black Stars team to qualify for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. The Black Stars recently failed to win a fifth Nations Cup title at the just ended Africa Cup of Nations tournament in South Africa and President Mahama wants the FA to forget about their disappointments and focus on qualifying for the World Cup. �I hope that upon their (the Black Stars) return from South Africa, the handlers of our National team have begun undertaking the necessary postmortem in other to ensure our qualification for the World Cup in Brazil next year. �I request the FA and the management of the Stars to go back to the drawing board immediately and commence the building of a more formidable team that will not only qualify us for the World Cup but will surpass the achievements of their predecessors in previous world cups,� he said. His Excellency John Mahama was delivering his first State of the Nation address to Parliament on Thursday. Ghana will be chasing a third successive appearance at the World Cup after participating in the 2006 and 2010 World Cup tournaments. The Black Stars will resume its campaign in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers next month against Sudan in Kumasi.
