Vice President Commends Ghana Police For Critical Role In Last Years Polls

Vice President Mr. Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has commended the Ghana Police Service for the professional manner they conducted themselves during last years polls. He said Ghana today is peaceful due to the critical role personnel of the service played across the country in ensuring that the 2012 General Election was conducted in a peaceful atmosphere. The Vice President however, reminded the service of the daunting task that lies ahead of them this year. He said security continues to be a major challenge and urged the service to be on the alert to deal with threats of whichever form. The Vice President made this known at the 2012 Get-Together of WASSA for the Police formation in Accra. The event which is organized annually by the service had to be re-scheduled for March 1, 2013, due to last years Presidential and Parliamentary Elections. Mr. Amissah-Arthur also used the occasion to congratulate personnel of the service who have distinguished themselves at various levels of their operations over the last year and urged them not to be complacent; rather they should continue to work hard for the good of the country.
