Pratt To NPP: This Is Hypocrisy...No Difference Between Mahama And Minority's Address

Editor of the Insight newspaper, Kwesi Pratt Jnr has asserted that there is no difference between President John Mahamas State of the Nations Address and that of the Minoritys True State of the Nations Address. He intimated that juxtaposing the two documents, there is no difference in terms of the challenges that the country faces. The president spoke at length about the deficit, the 'True' State of the Nations Address spoke about the deficit. The president spoke about energy crisis, the 'True' State of the Nations Address spoke about energy. The president described in detail unemployment in our country; the 'True' State of the Nations Address also described in detail the unemployment situation in our country and so on... So in terms of substance about the reality in which we are today, there is no significant difference between the State of the Nations Address and the so called 'True' State of the Nations Address delivered by the opposition, he said. Speaking on Radio Golds "Alhaji and Alhaji" programme, Kwesi Pratt accused the NPP of double standards. To him, the behaviour of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) as far as the debate on single digit inflation is concerned is strange because when they (NPP) were in power, they boasted so much about how they have reduced inflation. Pooh poohing on single digit inflation; the NPP itself boasted about the fact that they have been able to reduce inflation. So isnt it strange that persons who have since 1992 emphasised the importance of achieving single digit inflation are today pooh poohing the achievement of single digit inflation? If we are going to talk about hypocrisy and double standards, this is it. I find it extremely strange that this is the posture they have decided to adopt he added.
