Berekum Arsenals Coach, Mumuni Gamel is confident his relegation stricken side could beat the drop following their crucial win over visiting Tema Youth last Sunday.
The Gunners are drubbed in second place from the bottom of the log but Gamel who took charge of the team only a week ago is confident of his charges to initiate an ascendancy as long as they polish their performance in the beckoning weeks.
Arsenals rallied to defeat Tema Youth 2-1 in a week 17-fixture of the 2012/2013 Premiership played at the Golden City Park and Gamel who credits his players for stepping up their game at the right time is convinced the team could do much better.
He told GNA Sports: "I only took charge last week and noticed a few cracks in the middle. We are working very hard and it is very good that we fought to win today. All the points was all we needed.
"The boys did very well and though I do not know how far we will move on the log yet, obviously the win will help our chances. If we can maintain today�s performance and gradually build on it, then we will be in a good place by the time the season ends."
Arsenals has amassed a paltry 15 points out of a possible 51 following a turbulent season that has seen the once dreaded club draw six times and managed only three wins in 17 games.
The team has laboured to chart the path of their fearsome display since joining the elite division in recent times with their last minutes saves from the claws of relegation marking their closest shave with the drop for three continuous seasons.
Gamel previously managed Real Tamale United and the senior national women's team, Black Queens.
