Only Few NDC Members Have Opposed Pokuaa's Nomination- Allotey Jacobs

A member of the NDCs communications team, Bernard Allotey Jacobs, has debunked newspaper reports that the nomination of Member of Parliament for Agona East, Queenster Pokuaa Sawyer, as deputy regional minister for the region has created enmity between NDC sympathizers in the area. As reported by the Publisher newspaper, most of the inhabitants of the region were rooting for the Member of Parliament for Ejumako Enyan , Hon. Ato Forson, to occupy the position of deputy Regional Minister and have openly opposed the selection of Queenster Pokuaa Sawyer. But in a sharp reaction to the story, Allotey Jacobs revealed that Queenster Pokuaas nomination as deputy Central Regional Minister by President Mahama, has gone down well with them and that they were leaving no stone unturned to ensure her tenure is successful. He however indicated that though there might be few individuals who would oppose her nomination, the vast majority were in support of the presidents decision and saw the nomination, as a step in the right direction. You must understand that peoples expectations are very high and would oppose other candidates if their candidate doesnt get the nod to pick up the position. As usual, there are political cliques and because they know there would gain from their candidate, they are bound to criticize such an appointment, he said. Allotey Jacobs quipped that though Queenster Pokuaa Sawyer, might been seen as a new kid on the block, she did the right thing by submitting her name to the appropriate authorities when the president ordered interested persons to send their names for nominations. He explained that looking at the political spectrum; President Mahama might have concluded that Queenster Pokuaa Sawyer was the right candidate to partner the minister of the region to succeed. Asked by the host of "Ade Akye Abia" programme, when he (Allotey Jacobs) would pick up an appointment from the president, he answered that he was satisfied with where he is and continue to be a back bencher to ensure the right people get the right positions.
