NPP And Its Communicators Are On An Agenda To Misinterpret Government

Former Member of Parliament of Adentan Constituency, Kojo Adu Asare, has stated the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its communicators are embarking on an agenda to misinterpret everything that is done by the government in a bad light and therefore ridicule it. I stated this last or last two weeks, if my memory serves me right, the communicators, sympathizers and serial callers of the NPP have made up their minds to twist everything coming from this government and present it in a manner that makes it looks ridiculous, he lamented. He made these comments on Asempa FM, an Accra-based radio station during a political discussion, on the supposed change of name from Flagstaff House to Jubilee Flagstaff House. Though he declined to speak to the actual issue being discussed, he said the NPP is playing up every issue and relating it to the on-going Supreme Court case, making it look as though the leadership of this county is not serious and therefore not good enough to be in charge of governance. You can see them everywhere. Even on the floor of Parliament, you see them scheming. They are firing on all cylinders. They would want to find something negative about every issue that comes up. If that was not the case, the NPP would not create the impression that we have been in power for so long a time, yet, we are doing nothing, when they know that the actual governance would start after the budget is approved, the former law maker argued. In the view of Kojo Adu Asare, the action of the opposition is a great disservice to the nation. According to him, the problems in the energy and water supply are the most important issues to discuss so as to find solutions to the problems in those areas. He added that, the change of name of the Flagstaff House should not be given all the attention which would make us deviate from the serious issues confronting this country. If you have all these pressing issues sitting in front of you, a change of name should not be an issue to be debated because the impression would be created that we do not reason thoroughly through issues, he maintained. The former legislator explained that; we cant pretend all is well with us and therefore tend to discuss flimsy issues as these.
