NPP Is Playing Up Every Issue To Make Gov't Appear Ridiculous

Former NDC Member of Parliament of Adentan Constituency, Hon. Kojo Adu Asare, believes strongly that the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) and their acolytes are on a hidden agenda to put a spin on everything that is done by the government", "ridicule it" and place it under the spotlight, albeit negatively. I said this a week or so ago, if my memory serves me right, that the communicators, sympathizers and serial callers of the NPP have made up their minds to twist everything coming from this government and present it in manner that makes it looks ridiculous, he lamented. He made these comments in the studios of Asempa FM, an Accra based radio station during a discussion on the supposed change of name of the seat of government from 'Flagstaff House' to Jubilee Flagstaff House. Declining to speak to the issue tabled before him since he believed the opposition party is making a mountain out of a molehill, the former NDC MP opined that the NPP is playing up every issue and relating it to the on-going Supreme Court case, making it look as though the leadership of this county is not serious and therefore not good enough to be in charge of governance. You can see them everywhere. Even on the floor of Parliament, you see them scheming. They are firing on all cylinders. They would want to find something negative about every issue that comes up...If that was not the case, the NPP would not create the impression we have been in power for so long a time, yet; we are doing nothing when they know that the actual government work will commence after the 2013 budget has been approved, the former law maker argued. To him, the NPP is doing a great disservice to the nation, by seeking to deviate government attention from numerous problems bedevilling the country with irrelevant issues such as change of name of the seat of government instead of helping bring to the fore, the surmountable problems in the supply of energy and water that needs to be urgently addressed. If you have all these pressing issues before us, the change of name should not be an issue to be debated because the impression would be created that we do not reason thoroughly through issues, he maintained. The ex legislator explained that, we cant pretend all is well with us and therefore tend to discuss flimsy issues as this (change of name of seat of government).
