The Vice Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party in the 2012 general elections Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, was involved in a near-fatal accident on the Bole Bamboi road in the Northern Region on Sunday.
The astute economist was said to be travelling from Bole in the Northern region for the Ashanti Region when two of the tyres of the vehicle he was travelling in exploded some 20 minutes into the journey resulting in the accident.
With him in the same car were his press aide, Kwabena Boadu, his body guard, Tanko and his driver known as Emmanuel.
The vehicle, according to reports, somersaulted and veered off the road.
Though Dr Bawumia and the occupants in the car sustained injuries, they were not life-threatening and latest report say they are all recuperating.
