Angry NDC youth in the Wa municipality, protesting the nomination of Mr Abu Kansangbata as the deputy Upper West Regional Minister, have once again gone berserk by burning tyres in front of the regional office of the party. The youth also used red paint to inscribe on the walls of the regional office, the Wa central constituency office at the Wa Zongo and the women's wing offices of the party at Kpaguri. The residence of the Member of Parliament ( MP) for Wa central constituency, Alhaji Rashid Pelpuo, was also not spared as some threatening messages were said to have been posted on the walls. Some of the messages include " We don't want Abu KK" and "Abu KK cannot rule us". The Upper West Regional Organiser of the NDC, Mr Adams Issahaque, who confirmed this to the Daily Graphic, said the party hierarchy had met on the issue and were collaborating with the police to get the culprits. He said some names had come up and the party leadership had given them to the police. When contacted, the Regional Crime Officer, DSP Daniel Kwentwi, said the police were also conducting their own investigations to confirm whether the names mentioned were those behind the act. When the Daily Graphic visited the NDC offices yesterday morning, it noticed that white oil paint had been used to cover the inscriptions. It would be recalled that irate NDC youth in the Wa municipality about a week ago went on rampage and burnt bill boards of President John Mahama in disapproval of the nomination of Mr Abu Kansangbata, the Nadowli District Chief Executive as the deputy Upper West Regional Minister. In another development, the Daffiama- Bussie-Issa constituency executive of the NDC has expressed it's profound appreciation to President John Mahama for nominating Mr Abu Kansangbata who was the Nadowli district chief executive as the deputy Upper West Regional Minister. It said the people of the constituency were humbled and honoured by the gesture, especially when the constituency was recently elevated to a district status. In a statement signed and released to the Daily Graphic in Wa, the NDC executive described Mr Kansangbata as very affable, trustworthy and a hardworking youngman who could be relied upon by the incoming regional minister, Mr Ephraim Avea Nsor, to champion the vision of the president. It said the Daffiama- Bussie- Issah constituency had kept faith with the NDC since 1992, while the contribution of Mr Kansangbata during the 2012 general elections could not be quantified. "Our constituency has kept faith with the NDC since 1992 and in the 2012 elections but Mr Kansangbata's sacrifices towards the victory of the NDC could not be measured" the statement stressed and further congratulated Mr Kansangbata on his appointment.
