Justice Kpegahs Brain Needs To Be Examined - Adwoa Safo

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Dome/Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo, has advised Justice Kpegah to seek brain examination if he finds it hard to believe that Nana Akufo Addos integrity as a seasoned lawyer remains undisputed in Ghanas judicial history. Justice Kpegah, availed himself for series of bashes when he challenged and questioned the qualification of the 2012 presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) to practice law in Ghana. Apart from his claims that Nana Akufo-Addo could not practice in Ghana, the retired Supreme Court Judge wanted the authorities to close down the law firm Akufo-Addo, Prempeh and Co, established by the NPP 2012 candidate. But in a direct response to Justice Kpegahs challenge and demands, Adwoa Safo noted on Okay FMs morning show that on numerous occasions, Justice Kpegah had issued rulings on Nana Addos cases without questioning his integrity as a professional lawyer. It is a disgrace for him (Justice Kpegah) to even claim that Nana Addo isnt a lawyer. As a judge, it is a disgrace for you not to detect an unprofessional lawyer has appeared before you in the law court. if anybody argues that the name he used when he enrolled with the judicial service isnt his name, I think the person alleging must have his brains examined, she offered. Nana Addo, according to Ms. Safo managed to train people at the law firm including a Supreme Court judge by name, Sofia Akuffo. Lawyer Adwoa Safo also reproached her colleague young lawyers, who have jumped unto the defense of Justice Kpegah; challenging them to deny using law reports published by Nana Addo at the faculty of law. She called on the former Supreme Court Judge to revise his note well before courting unnecessary controversy for himself. Hon. Adwoa Safo noted that in-as-much as no one can question people if they decide to change the names they were christened with from birth, Nana Akufo- Addo had the right to stick to his current name. She hinted that though certain powerful people in the current NDC administration were using names many people dont know they go by; it wasn't enough evidence to discredit them for the good works they have done for the nation. Can anyone tell me that because many of us dont know Mr. Ato Ahwoi by the name Andrew, we cant credit him for the works he has done? she asked. If a learned person like Justice Kpegah has retired from the judicial service, we expect the integrity of the bar to still walk around him...he has the duty to the profession and the bench to protect that integrity, Adwoa Safo advised.
