Security Officials Bully Stephen Appiah At Kumasi

Ex-Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah was subjected to huge embarrassment after security officials manhandled him during the Black Stars World Cup qualifier against Sudan on Sunday. Appiah was manhandled at the VIP lounge by some security operatives as he made his way to witness the encounter at the Baba Yara stadium. What was even more shocking and heart-throbbing was the denial of his persona by the officials who claimed they did not know him. The former Juventus and Fenerbache player was left furious and disenchanted as he expressed his frustration for the manner in which he was treated. It took the timely intervention of former Asante Kotoko Director Kennedy Agyapong before he rescinded his decision of not watching the game. Not effort of the likes of journalist Yaw Ampofo Ankrah and others could sway Appiah from leaving the stadium who was beset with so much rage. The 32-year-old was among seven-old players who had been sponsored by the countrys Ministry of Youth and Sports to offer support to the players ahead of the game. It was obvious the kind and welcoming gesture ended up in bad taste as some security operatives ended up manhandling one of the countrys great personality.
