Some Minority MPs in Parliament have expressed worry about that the large number of Ministers and Deputy Ministers nominated to serve under the Mahama administration saying it will negatively affect the country�s economy. President John Mahama has so far named about 80 Ministers and Deputy Ministers; some of who have been vetted and sworn in. This development has generated criticisms from the Minority and some members of the public with some saying the huge number will cost the taxpayer and stress Ghanaians. . The MP for the New Juabeng South Constituency, Dr. Assibey Yeboah in an interview with Citi News �the size of government is just too big�Almost every major Ministry has two Deputies; Finance, Lands and Forestry, Agriculture; it�s just jobs for the boys.� According to him, President Mahama is seeking to satisfy everybody �and he is gradually showing that he is truly indecisive�he hasn�t even gotten the grasp on how to appoint these Ministers�I will not be surprised if the count gets to 100.� Dr. Yeboah also noted that per the recommendations of the Professor Ewurama Addy report which considered the salaries for the Executive and Legislative members of government, there will be immense pressure on government�s budget. �You are paying your Minister about GHC 10,000 a month; you are paying you Deputies about GHC 9,000 a month, besides that you give them a Land Cruiser, you give them a salon car, now you have to give them a bungalow furnished, you have cooks, you have house boys and you have Police protection and free phone calls and the rest.� The New Juabeng South MP lamented that the total spent on a Minister in a year is about �GHC 500,000 to about GHC 1million on just one Minister.� He suggested that considering the current state of the country, �Ghana shouldn�t have more than 60 Ministers.
