Prez Mahama Is Clueless About Solving Problems Confronting The Nation

A leading member of the Peoples National Convention (PNC), has described President John Dramani Mahama as someone at his wits end about how to proffer solutions to problems facing the country. Atik Mohammed believes the President is clueless as to how to deal with specific issues, hence the several strikes in just three months in his administration. According to him, the country has gone past the stage where the President will have to sit at table with the teachers and other aggrieved associations before solutions are found to industrial problems. Speaking on Okay FM as a panelist to the issue of the suspension of the strike action by teachers after a meeting between the various striking teacher unions and the president at the Flagstaff House on Monday, the PNC's Policy Analyst claimed President Mahama has adopted this style of receiving aggrieved associations at the Flagstaff House because the Presidency is idle. If the President knew that this particular action will affect the children and did not want them to suffer, he should have done what the teachers are asking for a year ago because the issue with the teachers is long overdue, he said. He added that this vicious cycle of always complaining and not getting results must break by dealing with the outstanding issue as government always appeal to the good conscience of the teachers to go back to class any time the issue crops up. To avoid future happenings, he said, the President must find a lasting solution to the concerns of the teachers now to prevent any future strike action in the country.
