Norwegian-Born Ihle Amankwa Wants To Play For Ghana (Photo)

Norway-based defender Yaw Ihle Amankwah is the latest player of Ghanaian parentage looking to play for the Black Stars. The 24-year-old plays his club football at Sandefjord in the Norwegian second tier. Amankwah who was born in Bergen to a Ghanaian father and a Norwegian mother is said to be the cousin of Ghana debutant Emmanuel Frimpong. The ex Brann defender witnessed Ghana�s comprehensive 4-0 win over Sudan in the 2014 World Cup qualifier in Kumasi. Amankwah hopes to be the fifth overseas player to obtain a nationality switch in order to play for the Black Stars. Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, Kevin-Prince Boateng, Adam Kwarasey and quite recently Emmanuel Frimpong have all gone through a similar process to feature for Ghana at senior level.
