The Free SHS Prayer Group, a group devoted to seeking spiritual and divine intervention for the flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 general elections, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is claiming that the recent revelation by the Chairman of the Electoral Commission, concerning some of its temporary staff, is a manifestation of God�s handiwork. The group says it believes God is answering several calls by the various religious bodies to let justice prevail, and bring all individuals and groups who contributed in any way to the alleged fraud in the 2012 elections, to book. According to the National Coordinator of the group, Andrew Owusu, God was answering the cries of many Ghanaians, who continue to pray for justice to be done, and that it believed recent hints by Dr. Afari Gyan that he would prosecute all staff found culpable of any form of fraud, is enough attestation. The Chairman of the Commission, at a Stakeholders� Meeting held in the Volta Region a few weeks ago, hinted that he would not hesitate to sanction any staff, including the temporary 1,500 presiding officers and returning officers, who are found to have one way or the other involved in any form of malpractices during the process of the elections. According to Andy, who is also the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Party (NDP), it was not for nothing that in the past few days several revelations were coming out, with respect to the 2012 general elections. The group has, since January this year, undertaken a series of intercessory prayers, calling on God to grant victory to the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party in the 2012 general elections.
