Taskforce To Implement President's Manifesto Promises Inaugurated

A five member Taskforce has been inaugurated to see to the early realization of the President's manifesto promises in the next four years. The inauguration was performed by President John Mahama at Flagstaff House in Accra. President Mahama charged the Taskforce to work speedily but with recourse to processes and procedures that need to be followed. The Taskforce is made up of Paul Victor Obeng - the Convener, Dr Stephen Ayidiya - Coordinator, Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, Cletus Avoka and Enoch Teye Mensah as members. Apart from coordinating the promises, the taskforce would also be working with three main thematic areas, namely; Education, Health and transport. President Mahama said the taskforce would assist him to execute the establishment of 200 new Senior High Schools, new district hospitals and the expansion in the aviation sector. He dismissed the impression by some members of the public that, their roles would be in conflict with those of the various sector Ministers, adding that, �They have well defined roles and my expectation is that, they will follow the laid down procedures by being transparent and open to people they collaborate with.� President Mahama said even though the taskforce had been given all kinds of names and descriptions, he was convinced that, they would bring their experience and expertise to enhance government�s determination to develop all sectors of the economy. �Many issues came up during our campaigns and to maintain that integrity with Ghanaians, we are ready to walk the talk to redeem all those promises,� President Mahama added. Mr P.V Obeng, on behalf of his colleagues thanked President Mahama for the confidence he had reposed in them and gave the assurance that, they would work effectively to deliver the entire task in consonance with government�s development plans. He said:�We will be alive with our responsibilities in humility, openness and transparency to serve Ghanaians better.� He gave the assurance that, they would collaborate with various sector ministers to come out with decisions that would be collective and all embracing towards the betterment of all Ghanaians.
