WAEC, GES Clear Air On College High Saga

The West African Examination Council, WAEC, has been explaining circumstances leading to the withdrawal of the College Senior High School mandate to register students for the 2013 West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination. The Public Relations Officer of WAEC, Agnes Teye Cudjoe, says the Council's investigations showed that authorities of College High had forged the continuous assessment records of students. She said the affected students have missed out on the May/June exam but should take heart and register for the November/December examination. Mrs. Agnes Teye Cudjoe also explained that the matter is still in court and there has been no settlement between the two parties. Meanwhile, the Ghana Education Service has launched an investigation into issues surrounding the College High School saga. The Headmaster of the School, Ato Abraham who is in the grips of the police, failed to register the students for this year's WASSCE. In an interview with Radio Ghana, the Public Relations Officer of the GES, Charles Parker Allotey, who made this known, blamed the parents of the affected students of failing to report the issue to the GES in the first place.
