We Will Stop Illegal Lumbering In Northern Regions - Inusah Fuseini

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Alhaji Inusah Fuseini has told Citi News, a task force will be set up to check illegal lumbering activities in the northern regions. Media reports suggest that illegal lumbering has been ongoing in various parts of the Northern Region for several weeks, especially in the West Gonja district where the Mole Game Reserve is located. The sector Minister, Hon. Inusah Fuseini in an interview with Citi News lamented, for me I can tell you that I do not support the harvesting of woods in the northern part of the country because the little forest cover that we have that used to share the double maximum boundary of rainfall is going and when it goes we will be exposed to severe dangers of the weather. The issue of the logging of woods in Damongo and particularly within the precincts of the Mole Game Reserve is very serious because it is affecting the natural habitat of the animals and that is why we need to tackle the issue head-on. Alhaji Fuseini emphasized that the practice will be disallowed to protect the North from severe rainstorms that continue to destroy lives and properties.
