President Mahamas First 100 Days Is Baptism Of Fire

Today marks the first 100 days of President John Dramani Mahama in office. Some have already described his administration as a no show administration but a senior member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) says these hundred days have been baptism of fire. According to Mr. Sam Pee Yalley, the opposition as well as other sections of the country have not given the President a breathing space but fire from all sections; strike actions, dum so dum so, water problems and so on. He is of the view that the fire would rather make the Presidents administration a better one. Speaking to Suhiyini Alhassan on Radio Golds Alhaji and Alhaji, Sam Pee Yaley said: John Mahama remains the only president in this country whose legitimacy is being challenged in court; even so, hes maintained a cool head posture. These hundred days have been baptism of fire. God test you when he loves youafter going through these 100 days of dum so, water problems, strike actions; in the next four years if there are issues of this nature, he knows how to handle it. He added that within these hundred days President Mahama has also proven that he believes in the youth; he feels they are as qualified as the old people and has advised the old folks within the NDC to quit complaining that they have been left out of the appointment from the President. They should rather teach the young ones with their experience. Nobody should feel that I am the all in all in this party. The older persons in our party; please relax we have had our time. If you are not a minister that does not mean you cannot do anything in this countryFor me, John Mahamas destiny is like a moving train, cross it and you will see what will happen to you he added. He indicated that even though there have been challenges within the 100 days, he (President Mahama) has also made some achievements; so what else do we want? As an expectation for the coming days, he has urged the President to use more of the internally generated funds and to encourage Ghanaians to contribute to the nations development. According to him, one of the things I am looking forward to for the next hundred days is John having a systematic program of trying to take action on the grips of the International Monetary Fund (IMF); then we will no longer depend on themso that as a country we can say that we have what we have as our own
