The Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Marrieta Brew Oppong-Appiah has saved Ghana from paying a 28 million dollar judgement debt to clothing company, Sweater and Socks.
This was after she filed to challenge the debt claim by the company at the High Court in Accra.
Sweater and Socks was shut down in 1979 by the erstwhile AFRC government for failing to pay taxes even though it made profits exporting millions of products to various West African countries.
The company sued the state in 1995 asking for a statement of account which was never granted.
