PPP Communicator: "I Will Be Very Surprised And Shocked If The Petitioners Dont Emerge Victorious In The Court Case"

A member of the communication team for the Progressive Peoples Party (PPP), Charles Owusu has said he is optimistic about the court proceedings of the 2012 election results challenge that it will come as a surprise and shock if the verdict of the nine judges does not swing to the camp of the petitioners. According to him, it is clear that the petitioners will win the case in court whichever way, saying that it is either the court rules for a run-off or declares Nana Addo as the winner, because there are manifestation which clearly show on the face of the pink sheets that the 2012 election was a calculated plan by EC to make sure that President Mahama retains the seat for the NDC. Speaking on Okay FM as a panelist, he said that it has been reported that some presiding officers in the northern region have lodged complaint against the EC for asking the officers to sign pink sheets which are believed to be part of the exhibits in the Supreme Court concerning the 2012 election litigation. He further said that the cross-examinations from all the counsels of the three respondents are bogus and this will amount to nothing; in that there is no need for Tsatsu Tsikata to waste time asking questions about finger verification when there is an instruction written in the register that the disabled persons shall not go through finger verification but by other means. This is why I am saying that I will be very surprise and shock if the petitioners dont emerge victorious in the court case, he said. He reminded that the case before the Supreme Court is about the pink sheets and that Dr. Bawumia has every right to constantly mention that his evidence is on the face of the pink sheet because it is empirically visible to see the irregularities on the pink sheets. He said that the excuse that the failure on the part of the presiding officers to fill the bottom of the pink sheet was due to administrative lapses cannot be accepted because the EC had the intention to compromise and that was why the officers failed to fill the portion before the election begun. He therefore said that Ghana does not need an error President and that it deserves a credible person as President.
