Hard-Hearted Doctors Must Be Held Responsible For Any Deaths Recorded Not Gov't

National Women's Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Anita De Soso has tasked all Ghanaians to lay blame at the doorstep of 'hard-hearted doctors on strike should any loss of life be recorded in their absence. The NDC firebrand made the above comments on Space FM and specifically singled out the Brong Ahafo Regional Chairman of the Ghana Medical Association, Dr. Amo Kodie, for playing an integral role in the refusal of the health practitioners to return to the negotiating table with government. Madam Anita De Soso clearly stated that Dr. Amo Kodie should be held morally responsible for any patient who dies in the region. Although government has issued statements indicating it is unhappy about the decision by doctors to hold onto their strike action, the leadership of the association has consistently maintained that governments refusal to show commitment in resolving the issues of their conversion difference and reduced pensions, had made it difficult for them to return to duty. The unpredictable nature of the whole situation led to an action by government to fly 250 students to Havana, Cuba to be trained as doctors as 300 Cuban doctors arrive in the country to assist with academic and medical services. This came to light at the signing of a renewed agreement between Ghana and Cuba and hasnt sat well with the leaders of the medical association who havent been paid for services rendered in the past.
