Kumbungu, Lesson For All Nkrumahist Parties - Ahmed Ramadan

PNC Chairman, Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan, has said the recently held by-election in the Kumbungu constituency in the Northern Region must teach the various Nkrumahist parties a lesson on how to work together. He said there was still some goodwill towards the Nkrumahist parties in the rural areas, and that many people were prepared to support the Nkrumahist agenda. Speaking to the Daily Graphic in a telephone interview, he said to give hope to such teeming supporters and sympathisers, the numerous Nkrumahist parties must work for unity and come together to hold a maiden national rally of a united Nkrumahist front. He said that when the PNC and the CPP worked with unity of purpose, the CPP was able to win the seat during the Kumbungu by-election. Alhaji Ramadan said he was certain that many people, especially the small parties, would see reason with the rest of the Nkrumahist parties and join them to achieve the objectives set for themselves to attain power and complete Nkrumah�s works of national development He said Nkrumahists ought to take a cue from the Kumbungu by-election and reorganise themselves to bring back the confidence the people had reposed in the Nkrumahist tradition. Also, said with the little that the Nkrumahists had learnt, it was clear that people were ready to lend their support, and with the maiden rally of all the Nkrumahist parties in Kumbungu, they were going to kick-start the activities It would be recalled that on Tuesday, the CPP won a historic victory when its candidate, Mr Yahaya, in the Kunbumgu by-election, won the seat. He polled 13,029 against Alhaji Imoro Yakubu Kakpagu of the NDC who polled 11,896. The PPP candidate polled 228.
