NPP Communicator: Tsatsu Tsikata's Cross Examination Is a Means To Delay Court Proceedings

A member of the communication team for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Asamoah Gyamfi has seen the cross-examination of Tsatsu Tsikata as a means to delay the court proceedings since he is not dealing with the substantive issues before the Supreme Court. He said that the petitioners have put before the Supreme Court four categories of issues which amounted to election malpractices, irregularities and violations of conduct; stressing that I have not seen the magic of big brother Tsatsu yet in his cross-examination. Speaking on Okay FM, he said that Tsatsu Tsikata should have proved by now to court that the evidence presented by the petitioners are false and that Dr. Bawumia erred with his calculations; stating that the astute lawyer of many years experience has not been able to pinpoint those areas which are before the nine Justices. He recounted that as many Ghanaians are waiting to see Tsatsu Tsikata punch holes in the evidence of irregularities and misconducts which are smeared in the 2012 elections, he said that the third respondents lawyer is rather wasting time pinpointing the affidavits which were not properly signed by the Commissioner of Oath and that there were duplicated pink sheets. In fact Dr. Bawumia has the privilege to make as many errors as possible in bringing his case to the Justices and this is not violation of law, but the same error cannot be accepted when committed by the electoral commission because in their own regulations, omissions are electoral offenses, he explicated. He educated that there is no precedence to the fact that Dr. Bawumia has made errors in his exhibits so his case should be annulled; stressing that rather the mistakes will be taken out and the correct ones dealt with by the court. He however said that Tsatsu Tsikata is good at loosing on technical grounds and that is his area of specialty, as it can be seen in the trend with his cross examination; adding that he is just hovering around the case without going to the main issues.
