Election petition case adjourned to Tuesday

The Supreme Court sitting in Accra on Monday adjourned hearing on the ongoing election petition case to Tuesday, May 7, 2013. When the Court reconvened Monday morning, the eleventh day into proceedings, Counsel for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr Tsatsu Tsikata continued his cross examination of Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, second petitioner and star witness in the case. Shortly before the Court rose for the day, Mr Tsikata who had been arguing out his case on the specific issue of over voting, handed over a set of pink sheets to the witness to go through after which he will cross examine the witness. He submitted that in all 64 pink sheets there was no instance of over voting as alleged by Dr Bawumia. The witness, after having checked 46 out of the bunch of 64, disagreed with Counsel for the NDC. He indicated that in three out of the 46 pink sheets he had perused, he will contest Mr Tsikatas assertion that there was no case of over voting, when the Court reconvened on Tuesday. Hearing continues tomorrow.
