Work and Housing Minister inspects Job 600 project

Alhaji Collins Dauda, Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, on Monday called on the consultants and the contractor working on the Job 600 building project to speed up work in order to meet the June completion deadline. Alhaji Dauda gave the directive when he inspected the progress of work on the building at Parliament House in Accra. The building, which will serve as office accommodation for Members of Parliament (MP�s), has facilities such as in-house meeting galleries, committee rooms, banks, Church, Mosque, gymnasium, entertainment centre, restaurant and a Clinic. Alhaji Dauda, who expressed satisfaction with the progress of work, said the project would be handed over to government without fittings and furnishings and that the Ministry and Parliament would determine the type of furniture to be provided. Mr Bentsi Enchill, Resident Engineer, said external works were almost completed and that the team at the site was sure of meeting the June deadline.
