Yamin launches 38th SWAG Awards on June 6

Joseph Yamin, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, will on Thursday, June 6, perform the official launch of the 38th edition of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards Night. The launching which will be held at the Media Center of the Accra Sports Stadium will kick start preparations for the event which will confer honours on sports men and women, who distinguished themselves in the year 2012 as well as other individuals and institutions for their contribution to the development of sports in Ghana. A statement from the SWAG Secretariat copied to GNA Sports said the event will also be used to formally announce new partnership with communication giants MTN Ghana, as well as other sponsors. Other personalities, who are expected to attend the launching are Madam Alice Attipoe, Acting Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Patrons, members of the Association and representatives of sponsors. The 38th edition of the SWAG Awards Night has been fixed for Saturday, June 29 at the Banquet Hall, State House, Accra. About 30 sports men and women as well as institutions will be presented with trophies, medals, certificates and attractive packages from sponsors of the event.
