Mahama, Veep Meet Over Market Fires

President John Mahama and his Vice, Kwesi Amissah-Arthur have held discussions on the recent fire outbreaks in some key markets in the country. This happened moments after the President arrived from his trip to Ethiopia, Japan and France. He and his advisers met in a close-door meeting to discuss the way to deal with the fire situation. There have been six fire outbreaks in some major markets in Accra including, the Kantamanto, Makola No 2, Agbogbloshie markets. The frequency of the occurrence of these fires has raised concerns over the cause of these fires with some persons in government alleging of possible arson. A Deputy Information and Media Relations Minister, Murtala Mohammed on Wednesday tasked the personnel of the various security agencies to speed up investigations into the incidents.
