Addison Cross-Examined Afari Gyan As If He Worked At A Repair Shop

Lawyer Abraham Amaliba, a member of the NDCs legal team has ridiculed Lead Counsel for the Petitioners, Lawyer Philip Addison for cross-examining witness for the 2nd respondent, Dr. Afari Gyan, as if he works at shop specialized in repairing only broken down biometric machines. Lawyer Amaliba dished out this mockery on Okay FM when he was asked by the host of Ade Akye Abia, Kwame Nkrumah Tikese, to give his take on Lawyer Addison's cross-examining of Dr. Afari Gyan. According to Lawyer Amaliba, he felt ashamed as a practicing lawyer to hear his counterpart in court ask the ECs witness questions that only specialists who repair biometric machine can answer. He suggested that it was far from right for the petitioners counsel in court to bring up questions such as does biometric machine have a button or not. Does he (Afari Gyan) know how the components of a biometric machine work? It is as if he thinks Dr. Afari Gyan works at a biometric machine repair shop, he averred. Speaking from his legal point of view, Lawyer Amaliba said he is surprised that Lawyer Addison is rather strengthening the evidence of Dr. Afari Gyan instead of punching holes in it. He summed up by opining that all the questions Lawyer Addison asked Dr. Afari Gyan on Ghanaians abroad who registered twice were all irrelevant questions.
